Dec 2, 2009 - the iwata lph400 is a clear coat gun u need to get the chrome air cap not the purple or orange, and for base Sata 3000 is the best. i use to use my iwata lph400 with the purple cap and it doesnt spray base that good it doesnt have an even pattern too much on the outer not much in the middle. put the chrome air cap and use it on clear and you will see that the iwata lph400 is the best clear coat gun ever.

Iwata has made me very happy for the past 3 years since i started using them. I wish i could say the same for Sata, haha but i have co-workers who praise Sata's like i do Iwata, they just have yet to prove it to me.... to each their own

Jan 25, 2010 - Orange cap is your base cap, silver cap is your clear cap, purple is your cap for harder colors like greys and silvers. Cheap ass gun too. $450 through my dad's shop. Caps are about $120 for the purple though.
